Madalena is a member of the firm's Criminal, Misdemeanour and Compliance team.
Since she began her career, Madalena's career path has been primarily focused on criminal law and administrative offences. She has continuously acquired knowledge in these matters through technical and soft skills training, which complements her work as a lawyer.
Madalena works in legal consultancy and dispute resolution. In this context, she has had the opportunity to intervene in highly complex media criminal cases ("BES Case", "Rui Pinto Case", “Operação Marquês”, “Rota do Atlântico”, among others), and to collaborate frequently in administrative offence cases, in matters of competition law, online gambling and health advertising practices.
Throughout her career, she has provided legal services to both individuals—in a wide range of matters, specifically within the scope of economic crimes, as well as offenses against honour, physical integrity, and sexual self-determination—and corporate entities, both private and public, across various business sectors, representing her clients before courts, judicial authorities, and administrative bodies.
Besides her litigation experience, Madalena has been active in compliance matters, aimed at preventing corruption, providing legal advice and counselling in this area to companies in various sectors of activity.
Before joining the MFA team, Madalena began her career as a trainee and later as an associate at Vieira de Almeida e Associados (from 2019 to 2024).
More recently, she has been invited to speak at university conferences on economic crimes and offenses against sexual self-determination.
