Jorge is part of the firm's Technology, Digital and Regulatory team since 2025.

He has focused his activity on assisting national and international clients with complex regulatory issues and is also recognised in the market for his work in the areas of data protection, cybersecurity, e-commerce, intellectual property and cryptoassets.

His multidisciplinary academic background, combined with a strong technological vocation and the experience he has gained advising some of the largest global technology companies and numerous start-ups, gives him a highly versatile profile geared towards creating innovative, customised legal solutions in line with his clients' strategic objectives.

On the regulatory side, Jorge has developed a solid practice, with a special focus on the electronic communications sector, supporting telecoms operators, regulatory authorities, some of the main infrastructure holding companies at European level, and large technology companies with operations or projects in Portugal. 

Jorge also has extensive multi-sector experience in defining and implementing data protection risk management strategies and cybersecurity (including carrying out audits and coordinating crisis response), regulation of the digital economy, drafting and negotiating highly complex contracts involving intellectual property assets, and advising clients on projects in the cryptoassets and metaverse areas.

Before joining MFA Legal, Jorge headed the Technology, Data and Digital Innovation area at CS'Associados, co-coordinated the Technology, Mobility and Communications area at PLMJ, was also a member of the technology area at DLA Piper ABBC and was a member of the Public Law area at Vieira de Almeida & Associados. He began his career at PLMJ.

He is Vice-President of ACEPI - Associação da Economia Digital, Member of the Board of ARBITRARE and Member of the Supervisory Board of .pt.

  • Lecturer on the Postgraduate Course and the LLM Course "AI in Legal Practice and its Regulation" at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon
