João Carminho, speaker at C-Days, a national reference event organised by the National Cybersecurity Centre

João Carminho, Senior Associate at MFA Legal, was one of the speakers on 25 June at C-Days, a national benchmark event organised by the National Cybersecurity Centre, which aims to reinforce best practices in this area and lay the foundations for a more resilient national cyberspace, through knowledge sharing by the different cybersecurity communities.

The lawyer took part in a presentation on Cybersecurity and risk transfer: regulation and limits: "In a context where cybersecurity is becoming increasingly important in organisations, cyber risk insurance is a solution capable of mitigating risks of various kinds arising from incidents. This presentation aims to critically analyse this type of insurance, in particular its most common covers and exclusions, the asymmetry between the marketing often promoted by the main players in relation to the policies available and their practical feasibility and possible adverse effects. The aim is to contribute to an in-depth understanding of the role of these insurances in the architecture of digital resilience and the true limits of risk transfer in an increasingly interconnected and dependent world."
